Detailed Overview
Collaborates with the clinical care team to facilitate excellent patient care and communication. Manages both clinic duties and patient portal communications with efficiency and professionalism. Committed to privacy and security of PHI. This position reports to the Senior Medical Assistant and Clinic Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinates virtual patient appointments by preparing patient charts, performing appointment check-in via video call and providing follow-up information.
- Clinical tasks may include recording patient medical histories, vital signs and updating medication records; Obtaining and reporting patient lab results; Managing patient portal communication.
- Administrative responsibilities may include scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, calling in prescription refills, and documenting client information such as forms, charts, records, and other related information, as required.
- Supports medical providers in clinical and administrative tasks
Additional responsibilities
- Provides coverage for other MA’s out of office time, as needed
- Annual in-person opportunity at the FEMM Medical Management Masterclass in Columbus, OH
Qualifications
- Medical assistant certification or experience, preferred but not required
- Recent related clinical or administrative experience
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A high level of professionalism, punctuality and time-management skills
- Adherence to medical assistant scope of practice, including HIPAA compliance
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Google Workspace and EMR platforms
- Ability to work fully remote between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm EST
