This position reports to the Senior Medical Assistant and Clinical Liaison Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinates virtual patient appointments, including visit prep, check-in and check-out.
- Clinical tasks may include taking patient medical histories, recording patient vital signs and
updating patient medication records, obtaining and reporting patient lab results. - Administrative responsibilities may include scheduling appointments, answering phone calls,
calling in prescription refills, and documenting client information such as forms, charts, records, and other related information, as required. - Facilitates communication between patients and providers via patient portal messaging.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Additional responsibilities:
- Provides coverage for other MA’s as needed.
- Annual In-Person Clinic (2 days) with optional educational opportunity at Medical Management
Master class (3 days) in Columbus, OH; Travel expenses covered
Qualifications
- Certified FEMM teacher, preferred
- Medical Assistant certification, preferred but not required
- Recent related clinical experience in primary care, outpatient clinic care, and/or acute
care or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Superior customer service skills
- A high level of professionalism and punctuality
- Adherence to scope of practice for medical assistant
- Ability to effectively problem solve, manage and prioritize patient caseloads
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with telehealth platforms
This is a remote position that requires access to a personal computer with speaker/camera capabilities, dual screen monitor, private work environment necessary for taking HIPAA compliant video calls.
